Privacy Policy — CW Evidence Capture

CW Evidence Capture is developed by CW Enterprize. This Privacy Policy explains how CW Evidence Capture handles information when you use the Android application.
Information and Evidence You Create
CW Evidence Capture allows users to create and organize evidence, including screenshots, screen recordings, audio recordings, notes, case information, timestamps, and related details.
Evidence is created only when the user initiates a capture or recording action. CW Evidence Capture does not secretly record the user or continuously capture the device without user action.
Screen Capture and Screen Recording
CW Evidence Capture may use Android’s screen-capture and MediaProjection features to create screenshots or screen recordings when requested by the user.
Android displays its own permission/confirmation interface before screen capture or recording begins where required.
While recording is active, CW Evidence Capture uses a visible foreground service and notification so the user can see that capture is occurring and stop it.
Microphone Access
CW Evidence Capture may request microphone permission for features that intentionally record audio, including:
- audio included with a user-started screen recording
- user-started audio-only evidence recordings
Microphone access is used only for these recording features.
CW Evidence Capture does not use the microphone for advertising, profiling, analytics, or background surveillance.
Floating Capture Control
The app may request permission to display a floating control over other applications. This feature allows the user to quickly initiate an evidence capture while viewing content in another application.
The floating control is visible and can be enabled or disabled by the user.
Local Storage and Encryption
Evidence stored inside CW Evidence Capture is protected locally on the user’s device. Evidence files are encrypted using Android security mechanisms, and associated case information is stored in the application’s private storage.
The app is designed to keep evidence private unless the user intentionally exports or uploads it.
Exported Evidence
Users may export evidence to formats such as ZIP or PDF for their own use, including providing information to an attorney, employer, online platform, law-enforcement agency, or another party chosen by the user.
Exported files are no longer protected by the app’s internal encrypted storage once they are intentionally exported. Users are responsible for protecting and sharing exported files appropriately.
Optional Alledgedly Sync
CW Evidence Capture may provide an optional feature that allows users to send selected evidence to a connected Alledgedly website or service.
This transfer occurs only when initiated by the user.
Selected evidence must be decrypted locally before it can be uploaded and is transmitted using HTTPS. CW Enterprize does not represent this optional transfer as end-to-end encrypted unless the connected service separately provides and verifies such encryption.
Information uploaded to an external website may also be subject to that website’s privacy policy and data-retention practices.
Internet Access
Internet access may be used for optional online features such as user-requested evidence synchronization.
Local evidence capture, organization, and storage are separate from optional online transfers.
Data We Do Not Use for Advertising
CW Evidence Capture does not use captured evidence for advertising.
The app does not sell users’ screenshots, recordings, case information, or other evidence to advertisers.
Analytics and Advertising
CW Evidence Capture does not include advertising features intended to profile users based on their evidence.
If analytics or third-party services are added in a future version, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration will be updated as required.
Data Retention and Deletion
Locally stored evidence remains on the user’s device until the user deletes it or removes the application’s data.
Users can delete evidence from within the application where deletion controls are provided.
Users may also remove locally stored application data through Android settings or by uninstalling the application.
Information intentionally uploaded to an external service may need to be deleted through that service according to its applicable deletion procedures.
Recording Laws and User Responsibility
Laws regarding audio recording, screen recording, conversations, and evidence collection vary by location.
CW Evidence Capture provides recording and organization tools but does not determine whether a particular recording is lawful.
Users are responsible for obtaining any consent required by applicable local, state, federal, or international law.
Security
CW Enterprize uses reasonable technical measures intended to protect information stored by the application. However, no device, storage method, or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should protect their devices with appropriate Android security features such as a screen lock, PIN, password, or biometric authentication.
Children
CW Evidence Capture is not designed specifically for children under 13 and is not intended to knowingly collect children’s personal information for advertising or profiling purposes.
Android and Third-Party Services
Certain functionality depends on Android operating-system services, including microphone permissions, MediaProjection, notifications, foreground services, and overlay permissions.
Google and the device manufacturer may process information independently as part of operating the Android device. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when CW Evidence Capture features, legal requirements, or data-handling practices change. The effective date will be updated when material changes are made.
